Maintenance Tips: Signs of a Bad Radiator

When your car starts to show signs of a bad radiator, it’s one of the most important parts to have replaced, especially as we enter the cold winter season. The radiator is vital for maintaining a normal temperature inside your engine, so without it your engine will overheat and stop working.

Overheating is the most noticeable sign of a bad radiator. While you’re driving, it’s important to keep an eye on the temperature gauge, which measures the internal state of your engine. If you notice it starting to raise past its normal level, pull over and let the engine cool off.

You might also notice puddles underneath your car. This can be a sign of a leak in your coolant system. The best way to find the source of the leak is to take the car to a mechanic and have a pressure test done, then have the source of the leak patched.

You might notice a sludge-like substance in your coolant tank as well. This usually indicates rusting, which will continue to affect your radiator, so you have to replace any rusting parts as well as flush your coolant system.

We at Gossett Hyundai Mazda Mitsubishi recommend taking good care of your car by keeping an eye on your radiator!

The Hyundai Virtual Guide app, set to be released later this year, will make Hyundai the first automaker to introduce an owner’s manual with augmented reality. The Virtual Guide app will give drivers access to information on repairs, maintenance, and the vehicle’s features.

At first, the app will only be available with the 2015 Hyundai Sonata, though it will soon become compatible with more vehicles. Any smartphone or tablet user can get the app through the Google Play Store or the iTunes Store. With the ability to track your car and retrieve information on various parts of your car, the Hyundai Virtual Guide will prove extremely useful for maintenance as well as education.

The app contains over 80 how-to videos, recognizes 45 features of the Sonata, has more than 50 informational guides, and lets users scan images of their vehicle to create 3D overlay images. This incredible array of features is aimed at educating drivers on all the things their cars can do and be more accessible for “the growing population of tech-savvy consumers,” as Hyundai puts it.

Details on the Rockstar Performance Garage Hyundai Tucson

We’ve come to know the Hyundai Tucson to be a lot of things. Fuel efficient, safe, tech-savvy—all of these clearly describe the CUV.

We also know the Tucson to exhibit a high degree of versatility, but Rockstar Performance Garage (RPG) recently took the Tucson to an entirely new level. The SEMA conference is coming up and an RPG-modified Tucson will be part of Hyundai’s presentation.

Nic Ashby, owner and general partner of Rockstar Performance Garage, explained in a press release what he and his team’s goal was with the Tucson. “The focus behind this build was to create an off-roader that nobody expected.” The Tucson proved to be a great canvas for their work, explains Ashby, because the CUV featured a “rigid frame” and had “plenty of room in the engine bay.”

The modifications for the Rockstar Performance Garage Hyundai Tucson include:

  • Turbonetics Godzilla Blow Off Valve
  • 32-inch MTZ P3 tires
  • Fully-custom, adjustable shocks and struts system from King Shocks
  • High-flow Magnaflow exhaust
  • Smoked rear tail lights
  • Custom off road bumpers
  • King Shocks 2.5-inch Adjustable Strut Coilovers

Hyundai Releases DIY Android Auto Installation Instructions

When it comes to in-vehicle technology, Hyundai has often been on the leading edge of development. The brand’s most recent move will only serve to strengthen its reputation.

Technology is becoming more and more advanced every day. Upgrades are a simple fact of life now. With many vehicles out there, it seems you have to drive yours to the dealership to let a technician install new software. In other words, upgrades are relegated to the realm of the “experts.”

Hyundai is putting the power of the upgrade into your hands, however, if you own a 2015 Hyundai Sonata with navigation. The automaker just released DIY Android Auto installation instructions to the masses.

Users need to go their MyHyundai portal and register if they haven’t already done so. Navigating the portal and downloading the software onto a USB drive is extremely easy. The user then moves the software from the USB stick to their Sonata via the USB port. Find instructions for DIY Android Auto installation here.

As far as production vehicles are concerned, Hyundai is first automaker to feature Android Auto. Michael Deitz, Senior Group Manager of Connected Care of Hyundai Motor America, said in a press release, “Hyundai is continuing to offer the best user experience possible by leveraging its MyHyundai platform, so customers have the option to update their car–their way.”
