Mazda has unveiled its new “Retail Evolution” dealership store design at Mazda of Everett in Seattle. The upscale redesign exemplifies the direction the brand is moving, and six dealerships are expected to be finished by the end of 2015, with 75 more stores projected to get the overhaul by the end of 2016.
Mazda’s previous design, “Retail Revolution,” featured an orange and green color palette with industrial metal siding in an effort to appeal to young buyers. According to Automotive News, the new Mazda dealership design will feature bold but sophisticated design elements including a black and white color palette.
“We’re looking at this through a customer lens,” Jim O’Sullivan, CEO of Mazda North American said. “We’re attaining a much more sophisticated customer than we were in the past, and we want to make sure that our retail experience fits with what these customers are looking for.”
Besides a new color scheme, natural materials, and modern décor, the dealerships will also feature high-tech elements. For example, Mazda of Everett boasts a video wall behind the reception desk that is built from nine 55-inch Samsung TVs. The wall streams engaging footage through the course of the day. In addition, free Wi-Fi and charging stations are available.
