There’s a difference between driving well and driving for good. Mazda recently wrapped up its Drive for Good Campaign, which allowed for customers to help out a national or local charity when they purchased a Mazda vehicle. The results of the campaign show just how much help it has generated for various charitable organizations.

According to a Mazda press release, Mazda’s Drive for Good Event raised more than $5.3 million for charity.

The event, which ran from late November 2015 through early January 2016, facilitated the donation of $150 to various charity organizations for every new Mazda vehicle sold.

Additionally, Mazda dealerships also pledged an hour of community service for every Mazda test drive.

“Mazda Drive for Good is in its third year and we are honored to again announce continued growth in donations to our nonprofit partners,” said Masahiro Moro, president and CEO of MNAO. “With more than 72,000 hours pledged, volunteering continues to be the best opportunity for our employees and dealers to make a real difference in their local communities.”

Working together, customers and Mazda dealers made the difference for charities across the nation, a testament to the character of the Mazda brand and those who drive its vehicles.
