According to I Love Memphis, one of the most popular events for people to attend is the upcoming Indie Memphis Film Festival from November 1st-7th. Featuring films from local and regional artists, this event is currently in its 19th year. The Indie Memphis organization is a two-time recipient of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences grant, and it was named one of the top “25 Coolest Film Festivals.” If you’re looking for a way to support local arts while also seeing the latest films, stop by this event.

From November 18th-20th you can also see the Memphis Comic and Fantasy Convention. Perfect for those who love fantasy, cosplay, comic books, and more, this event caters to a wide demographic. There will be gaming, late night entertainment, a concert, gothic ball, and more. You can also meet Chance Raspberry, lead animator for the Simpsons.

  • Mud Island River ParkMud Island River Park stretches five blocks and is designed to give guests a look at life on the Mississippi. Enjoy the scenic view of the Mississippi River and downtown Memphis and take a ride on the Swiss-built monorail system. Most visitors spend at least four hours at the park so plan accordingly!
  • Memphis Zoo – The Memphis Zoo is home to thousands of animals and puts on special events and exhibits throughout the year. That alone makes it a great place to spend a day! Throw in animal shows and rides as well for a vacation the kids will never forget.
